April 30th, 2008 Meeting Notice
LECTURE BY DAVID GRIESINGER AND BOOK SIGNING WITH
LEO BERANEK
We are pleased to announce a book signing event in celebration
of the publishing of Leo Beranek's memoir, Riding the Waves: A
Life in Sound, Science, and Industry. Leo will speak briefly and
be on-hand to sign copies of the book, which will be available
at the reception at 20% off.
Following the book signing, Dr. David Griesinger will describe
his experiments in building an exact physical replica of his own
external ears, including the ear canal and eardrum impedance.
The resulting dummy head can give exceedingly realistic recordings,
and allows very accurate measurement of all kinds of phones, including
inserts.
The book signing will begin at 6pm, followed by Dr. Griesinger's
lecture at 7pm. The meeting will be held at Acentech (33 Moulton
St., Cambridge, MA) and food will be provided. Please RSVP to
