2009-2010 Introductory Letter
September 1, 2009
Dear Members and Friends:
Thank you once again for a very successful 2008-2009 season. We were delighted to have such great participation at events such as the Genzyme LEED Platinum tour, Chris Bajdek’s presentation on Wind Noise and the tour of the Hanover Theatre, to name but a few.
This year we are pleased to announce some website upgrades which we hope will make the operation of the Chapter more efficient and bring us into Web 2.0. In addition, please check out our online ridesharing group at http://gbcasa.erideshare.com/ to make getting to meetings a little bit easier. The password is “sabine”.
We plan to hold an open planning meeting in Boston on Thursday, September 10. The focus of the meeting will be brainstorming for meeting ideas, chapter business and selection of Officers through consensus.
The Greater Boston Chapter and its events are supported on a volunteer basis. As a group, our goals are to reach a broad spectrum of people with a common interest in acoustics, to gather about once a month to discuss topics in the field, and to offer perspectives on current issues in acoustics. Please be aware that it is not necessary to be a Member of ASA National to join our local chapter, and guests are always welcome at all events.
Be sure to check the chapter’s website at http://www.gbcasa.org and peruse the latest Chapter information, including archived meeting podcasts and notices. We encourage you to join the electronic Mailing List in order to receive meeting notices and updates right away.
We look forward to seeing you at our meetings!
Sincerely,
Andy Carballeira
