LINE ARRAY LOUDSPEAKERS FOR SOUND REINFORCEMENT |

DESCRIPTION: Line Array loudspeakers are fast becoming the standard for touring and installed live sound in medium and large venues. This meeting will be a presentation and demonstration of the technology by experts Joe Rimstidt from NEXO/Yamaha and David Gunness from EAW. Mr. Rimstidt will present an introduction to the theory of line arrays loudspeaker systems. He and Mr. Gunness will then explain approaches each manufacturer has taken to solve problems posed by loudspeaker arrays. Both presenters will also discuss appropriate applications of the technology with examples. Audience questions are welcome and encouraged. This will be a joint meeting along with the Berklee & Boston Sections of the AES, and will be held at the Berklee Performance Center , a 1220-seat proscenium theatre. At least one line array system will be present for demonstration purposes. We will play various audio examples and allow you to roam around the hall. If you would like to bring program material on CD, please do so. The system will be configured in stereo. |
