The GBC-ASA has scheduled an extra meeting for the month of February which will feature, Lars Henrik Morset.

 Lars Morset is an acoustics engineer and software developer from Trondheim, Norway. His company Morset Sound Development has worked for 5 years on developing measurement software for sound cards for audio and acoustics professionals.

Below is a description from Lars of the topic for this meeting. 

Why should you come and listen to this presentation:

1. You would like to be able to perform or evaluate/process audio, acoustical and vibrational measurements but don't have the proper equipment. A flexible and powerful, but still inexpensive method will be presented. The software WinMLS 2000 will turn your PC and sound card into a professional calibrated measurement tool. Different versions and hardware solutions are available for professional, personal or educational usage.

2. You would like to have a portable measurement system. If the problem is that your measuring equipment is to heavy or cannot be used by a standard laptop, then have a look at the measurement system we will present.

3. You are interested in room acoustics - Using the software for measuring according to the ISO3382 standard will be discussed. This fall we participated and got good results in an international Round Robin in Room Acoustics held at Braunschweig, Germany, where several measurement systems were used to measure according to ISO3382.

4. You are interested in sound system calibration - This is another important application for the software.  We are proud that the Finnish world leading active studio monitor company, Genelec Oy, and their worldwide distributors are using the software for measuring frequency response when installing monitors in studios.
