DESCRIPTION:

The GBC-ASA meeting scheduled for Tuesday 2 October 2001 will feature an overview and site visit of Boston's Central Artery / Tunnel Project (the Big Dig). Afterwards, a guided walking tour will be available for those who wish to see (and hear) the Big Dig under construction. The tour will cover three job sites in Boston's North End as well as venturing up onto the new cable-stayed Zakim Bridge over the Charles River. The tour may last about two hours, and anyone walking the tour must be equipped with suitable leather boots. Erich will provide hard-hats and orange vests for anyone who needs one.
